Hike departures from Ollantaytambo to one of the most famous quarries on the Incas time, Cachiccata (Quechua word that means hillside of salt), that become one of the main attractions on the hike. Also since the quarries you get to see the Paqaritampu pyramid and the snowcap or Apu (deity) of La Veronica or Wakey Willka (Sacred Mountain who cry).
Around fall solstice in June, from the quarries is possible to see the position of the sun with spectacular shadow projections to the pyramids of Paqaritampu.
