The music and dance from ancient times played an important role in Andean society and had a popular character and accompaniment in community activities.

For its part, the dances had a magical religious aspect, most of which were linked to ceremonial reasons; however, they also had agricultural, warlike, and recreational purposes. Recognizing the importance of these traditions, cultural events of music and dance have been developed to enhance events with a touch of authenticity.

Welcome Music

Welcome music is played by the residents of communities with traditional instruments such as the flute and tinya, producing soft and short melodies that serve as the starting point of an event. This replicates what was done in Andean culture, where music was closely linked to all activities carried out by settlers.

Musical Interlude

A musical interval featuring the use of the harp and mandolin—string instruments introduced by the Spaniards and later adopted by Andean culture as part of their tradition—is offered. Participants will enjoy pleasant moments during breaks or intermissions, with various melodies performed by musicians.

Dances

Andean dance, as a cultural expression, reflects the people’s roots, daily habits, and traditions. A collection of motivational dances has been curated to highlight artistic expressions representing the region. These cultural events are ideal for halftime entertainment during an event.

Among the dances offered is Llantaq’epe, which is part of the cultural tradition of Ayni, reflecting reciprocity, solidarity, and mutual assistance in carrying fire from one place to another within a community.
